Steeler fans break down into two groups when they see the Steelers win a close game. Group number one sees it as more than luck, more than coincidence. They see it as a sign . . . evidence that there is someone up there watching out for the Steelers.
Group number two sees it as just pure luck, a happy turn of chance. I'm sure the people in group number two are looking at those great moments in Steelers history . . . the Immaculate Reception . . . The Tackle . . . in a heretical way. For them, those moments could have turned either way, bad, good, but deep down they feel that whatever happens, the Steelers are on their own. And that fills them with disbelief.
THE TACKLE |
But there's a whole lot of Steeler fans in group number one. When they see the Immaculate Reception, The Tackle, they're looking at a miracle. And deep down, they feel that whatever's going to happen to the Steelers there'll be Iron City beer there to help them. And that fills them . . . and they "believe."
See, what you have to ask yourself is, what kind of Steelers fan are you? Are you the kind who sees signs, sees miracles? Or do you believe that the Steelers sometimes just get lucky? Or look at the question this way . . .
is it possible that Franco's reception was Immaculate?
