The Steeler Face (left) pictured with The French Court (right) at Martino's in Cincinnati; and yes, that is a Super Bowl ring on his finger |
Unless you're a heretic among Steeler Nation, the French Court needs no introduction. For the heretics reading this, Frenchy was the intended target of a Terry Bradshaw pass on December 23, 1972 that became the "Immaculate Reception" when Franco Harris caught the errant ball and ran for a touchdown as time expired to give Pittsburgh its first ever playoff win, 13-7 over Oakland.
Incidentally, Frenchy Fuqua was the only Steelers running back in history to record over 100 yards receiving in a game until Isaac Redman matched his feat last week in Tennessee.
The vibe in Martino's was electric today as Steeler fans visiting Cincinnati for Pittsburgh's game with the Bengals tomorrow night stopped in for a day-early tailgate . . . and to meet The French Court, who was incredibly gracious with the time and attention he gave everyone he met.
Here we go Steelers, here we go!
