At least the Steelers aren't playing in Denver: Week 2 Preview

On the bright side, the NFL in all of its majesty and benevolence will allow the Pittsburgh Steelers to play a game that is not in Denver.  The Steelers' last two games were played in Mile High where safety Ryan Clark can't play due to a rare sickle cell trait that literally threatens his life.  For those who want to relive the Peyton Manning blowfest, however, NFL Replay is happy to oblige.  Although, I'm sure Steeler Nation is more than ready to move on.
The Steelers will host the New York Jets this Sunday, and their back-up QB, who lost his job in Denver after he threw for 316 yards in a playoff win against Pittsburgh.  Mark Sanchez, who lost at Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game in January 2011 is the starting QB for the Jets.  While this may sound like really good news, it is not.  This may be the same Jets team (they still have the Steelers' Super Bowl XLIII superhero, Santonio Holmes), but this isn't the same Steelers team that won the AFC Championship in January 2011.

Glory days: gone in a cloud of pot smoke and tweets.
This is the Steelers team that was embarrassed in Denver its last two games.

While I expect the Steeler offense to improve upon its performance at home this week, especially  against a Jets defense that yielded 28 points to hapless "Bluffalo" (a team that could only manage a meager 7 points against Pittsburgh's crappy defense in a pre-season contest); the defense remains a big question mark.  Sadly, the Steeler Face is forecasting a 40-41 loss at home for the Steelers. . . . No, wait a minute.  Ryan Clark will get play, so make it a 20-21 loss at home.  The Steeler Face is 0-1 in game predictions on the season, and 10-6 all-time in the regular season.

P.S. You'll need the vodka soaked cherries for game time, and alma seltzer afterwards.
