NFL says illegal formation okay, so long as it is used against Steelers, and not Patriots

Reports have begun to surface that question whether the Denver Broncos had enough men on the line of scrimmage before Tim Tebow passed to Demaryius Thomas for an 80-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage in overtime.  The 80-yard scoring play gave the Broncos a shocking 29-23 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in an AFC Wild Card game last weekend.

The NFL quickly responded to the reports saying that game officials were correct in not penalizing the Broncos for the illegal formation because the "NFL rule book for Steeler games" was in effect, rather than the regular NFL rule book used for all other NFL games.  Commissioner Roger Goodell added, "so long as that same formation is not called against my boyfriend Tom Brady, and the beloved New England Patriots -- it's all good!"
